Gyeonggi Fire Department Strengthens 'Fire Safety Management Inspections' for Presidential Election
The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will strengthen fire safety inspections until the conclusion of the 21st presidential election.
Kim Jaebyung, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure fire safety management at polling stations and ballot counting centers until the election is completed, so that the election can proceed without any disruptions."
Earlier, from May 7 to May 26, the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters deployed 36 inspection teams, 72 units, and 144 personnel to inspect 3,933 polling and counting stations in the province, thoroughly checking for fire hazards and the current status of safety management.
The inspection results showed that the majority of polling and counting stations in the province had established basic fire safety management systems, and all deficiencies identified on site were corrected.

The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters also conducted facility inspections, such as checking the maintenance of firefighting equipment and the securing of emergency evacuation routes, and provided fire prevention and response training to relevant personnel.
