Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation and Gunwi Sayuwon Sign Business Agreement: "Let's Join Forces to Revitalize Regional Tourism"
Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation (President Kim Namil) and Sayuwon (Chairperson Yoo Jiyeon) signed a business agreement on May 28 at Sayuwon in Gunwi, Daegu, to promote regional tourism revitalization and mutual development.
The two organizations pledged to mutually cooperate in revitalizing regional tourism by connecting Gyeongbuk and Daegu, as well as in joint promotion of events and festivals. After the signing ceremony, executives and staff members from both organizations toured the Sayuwon area and discussed ways to develop high-quality wellness tourism programs that link Gyeongbuk's healing tourism resources with Sayuwon.
Through this agreement, the combined capabilities of the two organizations are expected to enhance the cultural and tourism competitiveness of Daegu and Gyeongbuk, creating a synergistic effect for regional tourism revitalization.
Gyeongju Expo Grand Park is a leading healing tourism destination in Gyeongbuk, featuring a variety of exhibitions, videos, performances, and hands-on cultural content. It boasts unique architectural works such as the Gyeongju Expo Memorial Hall, designed with the participation of architect Kengo Kuma, and the Gyeongju Tower, designed by Itami Jun. It has also been selected as a Korea Unique Venue and one of the 50 Most Beautiful Urban Forests.
Sayuwon is a space where nature, architecture, and art are harmoniously integrated, with contributions from architect Seung Hyo-sang, architect Alvaro Siza, landscape architect Jung Youngsun, and calligrapher Wei Liang. As a leading wellness tourism destination where visitors can enjoy meditation and contemplation in a tranquil setting, it has been selected as one of the Korea Tourism Top 100 for 2025-2026.
