Changwon Fire Headquarters Wins Top Prize at National Fire Safety Instructor Competition
Changwon Fire Headquarters in Gyeongnam announced on the 27th that firefighter Yoo Jinhwan, who participated as the representative of Changwon Fire Headquarters, won the top prize at the 11th National Fire Safety Instructor Competition held at the Government Sejong Convention Center.
The competition, held on the 26th and hosted by the National Fire Agency and organized by the Korea Fire Safety Institute, featured representative instructors from 19 cities and provinces across the country. They competed in areas such as fire safety, emergency care, daily life safety, natural disasters, and fire safety education tailored to different types of disabilities.
Firefighter Yoo gave a presentation on fire safety for the visually impaired under the theme "A·C·E Fire Survival Method Customized for the Visually Impaired, Taught by Firefighters." He received high praise from the panel of judges for his systematic and practical customized education strategies, earning the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award and a prize of 700,000 won.
Currently working at the Changwon Citizen Safety Experience Center, he has established himself as a trusted instructor by dedicating himself to safety education for citizens. This award is especially meaningful as it recognizes his expertise and continuous efforts on a national level.
In his acceptance speech, he stated, "I will continue to deliver even more creative and practical education so that all citizens, including people with disabilities, can lead safe lives without being marginalized."
Lee Sanggi, Chief of Changwon Fire Headquarters, said, "This award is a good example of Changwon Fire Headquarters' philosophy of inclusive and practice-oriented safety education," and added, "We will continue to develop innovative educational programs to protect the lives and safety of our citizens."
