Gwangjin District Head Kim Kyungho Joins "Relay Campaign for Raising Awareness of Population Issues"
Promoting Various Policies to Encourage Childbirth
Including First Birthday Celebration Grants and Photo Shoot Support
Kim Kyungho, the head of Gwangjin District, participated in the "Relay Campaign for Raising Awareness of Population Issues" to foster social consensus on the challenges of low birth rates and population decline.
This campaign is jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Human Resources Development Institute for Health and Welfare. Local governments, public institutions, and private companies are participating in relay format to draw national attention to demographic changes such as low birth rates and aging populations.
Kim joined the campaign after being nominated by Lee Soohee, the head of Gangdong District, and Jeon Jinseon, the head of Yangpyeong County. He, in turn, nominated Won Jongpil, the president of Konkuk University, as the next participant.
Gwangjin District is actively implementing a variety of policies to address the low birth rate issue. Key initiatives include: ▲ a first birthday celebration grant program ▲ support for first birthday photo shoot expenses for children in Gwangjin ▲ rental services for infant car seats and Baekilsang · Dolsang (traditional Korean ceremonial tables for infants).

Kim Kyungho, the head of Gwangjin District, stated, "Population issues such as low birth rates and an aging society are urgent challenges that we can no longer postpone and must address together," adding, "Gwangjin District will do its utmost to create an environment where it is easy to have and raise children."
