'The Man of the Wind' Yang Yong Eun missed out on a top-10 finish at a major tournament.
On May 25 (local time), at Congressional Country Club (par 72, 7,152 yards) in Bethesda, Maryland, USA, Yang carded an even-par 72 in the final round of the Senior PGA Championship, a PGA Tour Champions major event with a total prize purse of $3.5 million, finishing tied for 11th place at 3-under-par 285.

He lost two strokes over the first five holes and was unable to mount a charge toward the leaders. In the back nine, he made an eagle at the par-5 11th hole in an attempt to turn things around, but bogeys at the 13th and 17th holes held him back. Yang, who has two PGA Tour victories, moved to the senior circuit in 2022 and claimed his first win at the Ascension Charity Classic last year.

This marks his second consecutive victory following last week's Regions Tradition, his third win of the season, and he takes home a winner's prize of $630,000 (approximately 860 million KRW). Cabrera, who has three PGA Tour titles including the 2009 Masters, returned to the tour in December 2023 after serving prison time in Argentina for an assault case.
