They added, "It is unacceptable for Jeju Air to demand a settlement before the investigation is completed."
According to the bereaved families, Jeju Air recently sent a registered mail regarding the final settlement to the families. When the families inquired about the reason, Jeju Air explained that it was a simple mistake. In response, the families countered, "We question whether it is reasonable for an airline that has hired lawyers from a major law firm to claim this was a simple mistake."
The bereaved families also pointed out that the crashed passenger plane remains abandoned at Gimpo Airport and Muan Airport. They stated, "We would like to ask whether the Accident Investigation Committee is properly preserving the evidence."
They emphasized, "This disaster is a complex tragedy involving a hillside crash, aircraft defects, airline negligence, and airport operation issues." They added, "The promise made by Jeju Air CEO Kim Ibae to uncover the truth and support the bereaved families responsibly must be kept."
