Gochang County to Conduct 'Community Health Survey' Until July 31
Targeting Around 900 Residents of the County
Gochang County in North Jeolla Province will conduct the '2025 Community Health Survey' targeting approximately 900 residents until July 31.
According to the county on May 16, the Community Health Survey is a nationally approved statistical survey overseen by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, pursuant to Article 4 (Community Health Status Survey) of the Community Health Act.
The survey aims to produce health statistics at the county and district level and comparative statistics between regions, providing foundational data to assess community health status and to implement health promotion projects tailored to local characteristics.
The survey targets approximately 900 adults aged 19 and over in Gochang County, who were selected as sample households through statistical methods by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. The survey covers a total of 175 questions across 19 areas, including health behaviors, smoking, alcohol consumption, physical activity, quality of life, and medical service utilization. Prior to the survey, a household selection notice will be sent by mail to the selected households, and interviewers will conduct 1:1 face-to-face interviews through home visits.
As the Community Health Survey serves as important data for establishing health policies in Gochang County, the active participation and cooperation of selected residents is essential. Since the results may vary depending on the responses of the survey participants, it is important for selected community members to answer sincerely.
Yoo Byungsoo, Director of the Gochang County Public Health Center, stated, "The Community Health Survey is conducted to assess the health status of residents and to understand health behaviors such as lifestyle habits, in order to promote evidence-based public health projects. We ask for the active participation and cooperation of all residents selected as sample households."
