The "Intensive Period for the Prevention of Industrial Accidents in the Three Major High-Risk Work Categories" is implemented to strengthen accident prevention activities for high-risk tasks such as forklift operation, crane operation, and non-routine work, in response to the tendency for major industrial accidents to occur frequently between May and July each year. During this period, a variety of activities are carried out, including relay campaigns in industrial complexes, the posting of banners, autonomous inspections using self-checklists, and intensive patrols of industrial complexes.
After the intensive period, the Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Eastern Gyeongnam Branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency plan to conduct unannounced special inspections, focusing on workplaces that have not carried out autonomous inspections and those where industrial accidents frequently occur in the three major high-risk work categories.
Kwon Guhyung, head of the Yangsan Branch, stated, "We will concentrate all administrative resources to ensure that no more major industrial accidents occur in high-risk work such as forklift operation, crane operation, and non-routine work." He also urged, "I hope both employers and workers will remain vigilant and make every effort to prevent accidents."
