View original imageOn May 14, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, as well as Acting President, Lee Juho attended the opening ceremony of the plenary session at the 7th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Education Ministers' Meeting held at the Jeju International Convention Center.
In his opening remarks, Acting Chairperson Lee introduced the Republic of Korea as "a country that has achieved both economic growth and social development through the power of education." He stated, "The advancement of digital technology and the emergence of artificial intelligence represent a civilizational transformation. As always, we will prepare for the future based on trust and cooperation, while also creating a new vision."
The 7th APEC Education Ministers' Meeting, which is being held from May 13 to May 15, is discussing the direction of future educational innovation and ways to strengthen global educational cooperation for joint prosperity in the region under the theme, "Bridging Educational Gaps and Promoting Sustainable Growth in the Era of Digital Transformation: Innovation, Connection, Prosperity."

The participating economies are New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Malaysia, the United States, Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, China, Chinese Taipei, Chile, Canada, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Australia, and Hong Kong, China.
