The aim is to establish Chuncheon as a leading educational city through lifelong arts and culture education that spans all generations, from children to adults.
The 'Chuncheon Dreaming Art Center' was completed in December of last year and has since been operating various pilot arts education projects.
Since its completion, the center has been attracting attention as an educational city platform through arts and culture education, having been consecutively selected this year for the 'Dream Theater (Puppet Theater)' and 'Gagahoho Project (Intergenerational Arts Education)' initiatives, both of which are sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service.
To coincide with the opening week starting May 13, the Dreaming Art Center will offer tours introducing the center's purpose and operational direction to visiting citizens. In addition, a variety of meaningful programs have been prepared, including an art therapy workshop with international artists and a sensory expansion special lecture led by a sound expert, Tonmeister.
The Light and Sound Exhibition Hall on the first floor will host a special exhibition titled 'Edison's Inventions for Everyday Life: The Night of the City, Dawn of Sound.' The exhibition highlights how the electric and sound technologies invented by Edison transformed everyday landscapes. This special exhibition will be on permanent display until February 22 of next year.
