View original imageDemocratic Party lawmaker Dogul An (Gwangju Dongnam-eul) announced on the 12th that he held a policy meeting with the Gwangju branch of the Korean Physical Therapy Association on the 11th to discuss ways to expand the role of physical therapists in the era of integrated care.
About 20 people, including Yang Dairim, President of the Korean Physical Therapy Association, Yang Jinhong, President of the Gwangju branch, executives, and physical therapists, attended the policy meeting. The discussions covered several topics: the introduction of prenatal and postnatal health care vouchers to improve the birth rate and promote women's health; a musculoskeletal health assurance policy for workers to prevent industrial accidents related to musculoskeletal disorders; the operation of community-based resident health prevention and rehabilitation management centers for a low birthrate and super-aged society; and improvements to the school health system to provide customized musculoskeletal disease prevention and health promotion for students.
An emphasized, "I will actively cooperate to ensure that physical therapists who protect public health receive proper treatment in the field," and added, "As the integrated care support system, which is operating successfully in Gwangju, will be expanded nationwide next year, I will do my best to secure budget support as well."
