Second Phase: 20 Additional Youth Housing Units in Preparation
Gyeongbuk Province announced that the "Hwanyeonghae Youth Neighbor Housing," built as part of the "Yeongdeok Yeonghae-myeon Neighbor Village" project to support young people settling in the region, has been completed and that move-in officially began on May 10.
The youth housing is intended for people aged 19 to 45 who wish to return to farming or rural life, as well as local youths preparing to start a business or find employment. A total of 19 units have been constructed.

View original imageResidents can live there for an affordable monthly rent ranging from 50,000 to 130,000 won. Various amenities, including community spaces and a shared kitchen, are also provided.
An official from Gyeongbuk Province stated, "The monthly rent varies depending on the size of the unit. The smaller units are single rooms of 18 square meters, while the larger ones are double rooms of 47 square meters."
This move-in marks the fruition of efforts to attract population and help young people settle in the region, and it is expected to inject new vitality into rural areas and play an even greater role in the future.
Following this first round of move-ins, Gyeongbuk Province also plans to open 20 additional youth housing units in Yeonghae, Yeongdeok-gun, which have been remodeled or newly built, in July. In addition, the province will continue to promote various settlement support programs, such as support for youth startups and the operation of generational integration centers.
Jung Sunghyun, Director of the Local Era Policy Bureau, congratulated the new residents, saying, "I hope young people will establish a new foundation for their lives here and grow together with the local community."
