Yang Hyangja, co-chair of the election committee, stated at the committee meeting, "Today, former President Yoon expressed his support for candidate Kim. From the party's perspective, this is a serious setback that hinders our efforts to broaden our appeal to moderates," and added, "If this presidential election becomes a contest between Yoon Sukyeol and Lee Jaemyung, we are certain to lose." She emphasized, "Only by solemnly apologizing to the public regarding martial law can we overcome this situation."
Former party leader Han Donghoon argued on Facebook, "As long as former President Yoon continues to issue public messages like today that are of no help to the election and tries to intervene in party affairs, expulsion measures are necessary." Han also urged candidate Kim, "You must firmly sever ties with former President Yoon and his wife," and requested, "You should sincerely apologize to the public for your opposition to martial law and impeachment, and clarify your position."
Representative Cho Kyungtae, sharing an article reporting on former President Yoon's message on Facebook, strongly criticized, "I hope he keeps his mouth shut. Doing nothing is the best way to help. He should be expelled or dealt with quickly."
