Gyeonggi Office of Education to Build AI-Based Digital Platform... Province-wide Expansion Next Year
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is launching an "AI-based digital platform development project."
The project aims to reduce the administrative workload of faculty and staff and strengthen digital communication within the educational community by developing an "AI-based digital platform."
On May 9, the Office announced that it has secured a total budget of 43.3 billion won for this year to implement the "AI-based digital platform development project," which is designed to reduce the administrative workload of faculty and staff and enhance digital communication within the educational community.
Previously, the Office participated in the "Support Project for the Use of Hyper-scale AI Platforms," organized by the National Information Society Agency (NIA), to preliminarily verify the applicability of AI conversational services.
The Office has completed the pre-specification disclosure through the Public Procurement Service for the digital platform development and plans to select participating companies in June to begin full-scale development.
The main components of the digital platform development project include: ▲ an "educational community portal and AI conversational service" that enables connection and utilization among various digital services; ▲ a "school information one-pass service" that supports communication between schools and parents, such as home correspondence and electronic consent forms; ▲ cloud-based business collaboration and the development of various AI models tailored to administrative tasks; and ▲ the establishment of a common digital platform foundation that can be linked with new AI services.
The Office plans to conduct a pilot operation of the digital platform at select institutions in November, and then expand its implementation to all institutions in the province in 2026.
