Namyangju City Signs Autonomous Public High School 2.0 Agreement with Pyeongnae High School
Full-scale Promotion of a Regional-School Cooperation Model
for Fostering Future Talent
On May 2, the city of Namyangju in Gyeonggi Province signed a business agreement with Pyeongnae High School regarding the 4th selection of the 'Autonomous Public High School 2.0' initiative at the city hall's Yeoyudang.

View original imageThis agreement was promoted to establish a foundation for educational innovation by encouraging collaboration between the local community and schools, in line with the Ministry of Education's Autonomous Public High School 2.0 policy.
The signing ceremony was attended by Joo Gwangdeok, mayor of Namyangju, Lee Junho, principal of Pyeongnae High School, as well as officials from the city and the school management committee. The event proceeded with an explanation of the main terms of the agreement, followed by the signing of the contract.
Under the agreement, Namyangju City and Pyeongnae High School plan to closely cooperate in various areas, including curriculum management, development of community-linked programs, and improvement of the educational environment.
Pyeongnae High School was previously operated as a science-focused school. It continues to provide education centered on integrated science and is an institution equipped with the capabilities and experience necessary to foster creative and convergent talent.
Through this application for the Autonomous Public High School program, the school plans to accelerate its transition to a future-oriented educational model by expanding student-tailored curricula and strengthening autonomous school management.
Joo Gwangdeok, mayor of Namyangju, stated, "This agreement marks an important starting point for the school and the community to design the future together and to create an educational environment where students can fully realize their potential," adding, "Namyangju City will actively support Pyeongnae High School to ensure its successful establishment as an autonomous public high school and its growth as a central institution in local education."

Namyangju City plans to use this agreement as an opportunity to not only achieve a qualitative leap in local high school education but also to expand various policy supports for the creation of a sustainable educational ecosystem.
