MBN's "Pandora" Returns... Song Jooyoung Vows to Be a Compass for Politics
The political talk show "Pandora" on the general programming channel MBN has been reorganized after a 10-month hiatus.
"Pandora," which first aired in February 2017, ended after its 380th episode in June last year. The show resumed broadcasting on April 7, in line with MBN's 30th anniversary programming changes.
The new host, reporter Song Jooyoung, is a veteran journalist with 21 years of experience. She has covered politics for over 15 years, working across the Blue House, the National Assembly, and the diplomacy and security teams.
On May 2, through MBN, Song stated, "I hope 'Pandora' can serve as a compass for political issues," adding, "Recently, bias has intensified, with attitudes like 'my side is always right and the other side is always wrong.' I hope 'Pandora' can become a trusted source for viewers who find it difficult to grasp the essence of political issues."
She also said, "In an era overflowing with fake news and biased reporting, the media must serve as a healthy forum for public discourse. I am determined to relaunch 'Pandora' with enthusiasm so it can become such a space."

She mentioned the newly established "Pandora on the Road" segment as well. Song explained, "Since we are in an early presidential election phase, I am meeting with preliminary candidates from each party. To accommodate their busy schedules, I sometimes start work at dawn to stake out locations or join campaign vehicles for interviews. It brings back the tension and excitement I felt as a rookie reporter. Although it is physically demanding, I am enjoying the work."
