Daejeon City to Provide Educational Activity Support for Children from Multicultural Families
400,000 Won for Elementary Students,
500,000 Won for Middle School Students,
600,000 Won for High School Students
Daejeon City announced that it will provide educational activity support funds for children from multicultural families.
The eligible recipients are children aged 7 to 18 from multicultural families whose household income is at or below 100% of the standard median income.
The support amounts are as follows: 400,000 won per year for elementary school students (ages 7 to 12), 500,000 won per year for middle school students (ages 13 to 15), and 600,000 won per year for high school students (ages 16 to 18). The funds can be used for a variety of educational activities, including purchasing textbooks, online lectures, and study room usage.
Applications can be submitted during the first round from May 2 to May 30, and during the second round from July 1 to July 31. Applicants must visit the family center that has jurisdiction over their child's registered address to apply.
A city official stated, "We hope this support will help children from multicultural families pursue their dreams," and added, "We plan to continue providing support to ensure they are not excluded from educational opportunities."
