Goseo-myeon and Daedeok-myeon Anticipate Revitalized Community Engagement
Damyang County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Jung Chulwon) announced on May 1 that Goseo-myeon and Daedeok-myeon have been selected as final recipients in the "Village Community Laundry Support Project" competition promoted by South Jeolla Province.
This project is being implemented using South Jeolla Province’s Hometown Love Fund to expand living welfare infrastructure in rural areas where residents face difficulties handling large laundry items such as blankets, with the aim of improving residents’ quality of life.
With the project budget of 60 million won secured through this selection, the county will use provincial and county funds to install shared laundry facilities?including washing machines and dryers?at Modadeul Sarangchae in Goseo-myeon and Haengbok Nanumteo in Daedeok-myeon. In addition, the county plans to provide laundry collection and delivery services in cooperation with local volunteer organizations.
The Goseo-myeon Residents’ Association was recognized for its systematic operation plan, including the establishment of a business plan and participation in job programs for people with disabilities. The Daedeok-myeon Residents’ Association received high marks for encouraging active participation from residents and fostering cooperation with various social organizations.
Governor Jung Chulwon emphasized, "The selection of this project will be a great help to rural villages facing issues such as an aging population and lack of living infrastructure," adding, "We will continue to actively utilize the Hometown Love Donation Fund for projects that resonate with county residents and do our best to realize comprehensive and heartfelt welfare."
