Soonchunhyang University Selected for Government Stipend Program
Graduate Students to Receive 800,000 to 1,100,000 Won Monthly Support Until 2033
Soonchunhyang University announced on April 30 that it has been selected for the "2025 Science and Engineering Graduate Student Research Stipend Support Program," which is overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
This program is a government-funded initiative that will be implemented from this year through 2033. It is part of the "Korean-style Stipend" system, designed to provide science and engineering graduate students with economic stability and a sustainable research environment.
With this selection, Soonchunhyang University will provide research stipends of at least 800,000 won per month to master's students and at least 1,100,000 won per month to doctoral students.
A Soonchunhyang University official stated, "With the selection for this government program, a practical environment has been established that allows graduate students to focus on their research without financial burden," adding, "We will continue to promote graduate school innovation and researcher-centered policies to enhance the scientific and technological competitiveness of both the region and the nation."
Meanwhile, in addition to this program, Soonchunhyang University was also selected for the Ministry of Education's "Graduate School Innovation Support Program."
