He continued, "Please make the lives and safety of our citizens your top priority, conduct thorough on-site inspections and strictly adhere to safety rules, and maintain a swift and organic response system to ensure that such unfortunate accidents do not happen again."
Mayor Lee also shared the news that Goyang City was selected as the 'Best' institution in the comprehensive evaluation of '2025 Gyeonggi Province Local Tax Arrears Management.' He emphasized, "This is the first time since the founding of Goyang City that we have received the 'Best Award,' which is a remarkable achievement that externally recognizes our innovations and results in arrears management." He encouraged the staff who have worked hard for fair and strict arrears collection administration.
In addition, Mayor Lee announced the implementation of the 'Goyang City Ordinance on Welfare for Persons with Disabilities' on the 18th, marking a practical step toward 'Goyang Special City for All.' He stressed, "For Goyang City to truly become a 'Special City' where everyone can live without inconvenience in their daily lives, it is essential to realize policies that consider all citizens first." He added, "Please prioritize the rights and interests of people with disabilities in every policy and provide even more attentive administration."
Furthermore, Mayor Lee stated, "As of yesterday, about 103,000 people have visited the Goyang International Flower Exhibition." He added, "Considering our city’s population of 1.08 million, I hope that at least 60% of our citizens will be able to visit the exhibition, so please do your utmost to enhance visitor convenience during the remaining period."
Lastly, Mayor Lee mentioned that the planting event for Kawaji Rice No. 1, a branded product of our city, will be held in May. He explained, "This year, the event will take place in major areas such as Daehwa, Songpo, Gobong, and Gwansan, covering approximately 900 hectares." He emphasized, "If Goyang City is designated as a free economic zone in the future, I ask that you pay special attention to preparing preemptive measures for agriculture."
