Silla University Signs MOU with UMN and PT. HLI Green Power
to Strengthen Industry-Academia Cooperation in Indonesia's
Electric Vehicle Battery Sector
Silla University is taking the lead in nurturing technical talent and promoting industry-academia cooperation in Indonesia's electric vehicle battery industry.
On April 29, Silla University announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) in Indonesia and PT. HLI Green Power.
This agreement was established as part of the "Tangerang 4th Industrial Revolution Technical Talent Development Project in Indonesia," which is supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and led by Silla University.
The signing ceremony took place on April 22 at the headquarters of PT. HLI Green Power. Sungsoo Kim, Director of the International Smart Technology Cooperation Center at Silla University, Andrey Andoko, President of UMN, and KiCheol Hong, CEO of PT. HLI Green Power, attended the event and discussed ways to collaborate.
Under the agreement, Silla University and UMN will jointly operate training programs in the fields of electric vehicle batteries and 4th industrial technologies, while PT. HLI Green Power will provide priority employment opportunities to graduates of these programs.
KiCheol Hong, CEO of PT. HLI Green Power, said, "By identifying local talent early and linking them with practical, hands-on education, we will benefit both the company and the local community."
Andrey Andoko, President of UMN, also stated, "We will enhance the global capabilities of our students and contribute to strengthening Indonesia's technological competitiveness."
Sungsoo Kim, Director of the Center, said, "Through educational programs tailored to local industry needs, we will provide young people with real employment opportunities."

Silla University completed the first phase of its talent development project from 2021 to 2023 and is now pursuing the second phase, which aims to establish an advanced education and industry cooperation system from this year through 2026. Since 2022, Silla University and PT. HLI Green Power have maintained a collaborative relationship, adjusting the curriculum through site visits and sharing their visions for talent development.
