Who Is the Strongest at the National Sports for All Jokgu Competition?... Korea Jokgu Association Concludes Wando Tournament
The 2025 National Sports for All Jokgu Competition was held at Wando Public Stadium in Jeollanam-do from April 26 to 27, 2025.
This tournament featured players from a wide range of age groups, from under 18 to those in their 60s, competing in six divisions. A total of about 700 participants from 17 cities and provinces nationwide fiercely competed for the championship trophy in each category.
Gyeonggi-do claimed the overall victory, while Jeollanam-do and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province finished second and third, respectively.
By division, in the under-18 category, Chungnam took first place, Gangwon came in second, and Busan and Gwangju shared third place. In the under-40 category, Gangwon won the championship, Jeonnam finished second, and Incheon and Jeonbuk shared third place. In the women's division, Gyeonggi took first place, Gwangju came in second, and Jeonnam and Gyeongnam shared third place.
In the 40s division, Seoul took first place, Gyeongbuk came in second, and Gyeongnam and Daejeon shared third place. In the 50s division, the Gyeonggi team won the championship, Sejong finished second, and Jeonnam and Daegu shared third place. Finally, in the 60s division, Gwangju took first place, Gangwon came in second, and Gyeongnam and Chungnam shared third place.
Lee Daejae, president of the Korea Jokgu Association, said, "This tournament held in Wando was a festival where jokgu enthusiasts from all over the country gathered and shared a meaningful time together," adding, "I would like to express my gratitude to all the players, staff, and city and provincial officials who helped make this event a success."
