Gwangju Dong-gu Signs Agreement to Designate and Open Additional Shared Parking Lots
Gwangju Dong-gu District announced on April 25 that it has recently signed an agreement with Gwangju Dongmyeong Church and others to designate and open shared parking lots in an effort to alleviate the downtown parking shortage.
The agreement, which was signed on April 24, was established to open private parking lots in the area as shared parking spaces, thereby expanding parking convenience for both residents and visitors.
The parties to the agreement include Gwangju Dongmyeong Church and the Jisan-dong annex parking lot, totaling two locations. After completing facility improvement work, 50 parking spaces will be opened to residents.
Currently, Dong-gu District is providing access to a total of five parking lots with 308 spaces through shared parking agreements. The district plans to promote various measures to expand the culture of shared parking, targeting religious and private facilities as well as school parking lots that are willing to participate in the future.
Im Taek, head of the district office, stated, "Resolving the parking shortage is an important issue for improving the convenience of residents' daily lives. Through this agreement, we expect not only residents but also visitors to benefit," adding, "We will continue to do our best to address parking issues and enhance the quality of life for our residents."
