Government Conducts Joint Counterterrorism Drill Ahead of Gyeongju APEC Summit
The Office for Government Policy Coordination announced on April 25 that a joint counterterrorism drill was conducted ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be held in Gyeongju in October this year.
The Counterterrorism Center under the Office for Government Policy Coordination carried out the joint drill from April 21 to April 25 at the 47th National Counterterrorism Training Center in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province. The purpose of the drill was to strengthen the counterterrorism response capabilities of dedicated organizations in preparation for the APEC summit.

The drill, organized by the Counterterrorism Center, involved about 150 participants from eight agencies, including the National Intelligence Service, the Presidential Security Service, the Ministry of National Defense, the National Police Agency, and the Korea Coast Guard.
