Habitual Marijuana and Methamphetamine Use... Man in His 50s Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison
A man in his 50s who habitually used marijuana and methamphetamine has been sentenced to two years in prison.
According to the legal community on April 26, the 13th Criminal Division of the Seoul Northern District Court (Chief Judge Na Sanghoon) sentenced Mr. Lim (57), who was tried on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act and special intimidation, to two years in prison.
Beginning around December 2023, Lim smoked marijuana by placing it in a pipe made of aluminum foil, lighting it, and inhaling the smoke. Starting around April last year, he injected methamphetamine four times using a syringe, and around September, he bought and sold methamphetamine worth about 250,000 won.

The court stated, "Crimes involving narcotics not only devastate an individual's body and mind but also have a seriously negative impact on society as a whole," adding, "The defendant has multiple prior convictions related to narcotics and appears to have continued committing these offenses over a considerable period of time."
