Passes Preliminary Feasibility Study
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's "Export-Oriented Global Excellent Corporate Research Institute Development Project" has passed the preliminary feasibility study.
On April 24, the Ministry of Science and ICT held the "3rd National R&D Project Evaluation General Committee of 2025," presided over by Lim Yo-eop, Science and Technology Innovation Coordinator (acting chairperson), and confirmed the implementation of this project.

View original imageThis project provides R&D funding to research institutes of outstanding companies with export capacity and technological prowess. According to the preliminary feasibility study, the total project budget has been set at 289.5 billion won, with a project period of six years (2026?2031).
Accordingly, a total of 70 companies will receive industry-academia-research collaboration R&D funding for three years during the project period. Depending on the country where the collaborating institution is located, support will be divided into two tracks: 60 technology-leading projects for challenging R&D, and 10 market-customized projects aimed at pioneering new markets. To facilitate smooth international collaborative R&D, networking, agreement and IP management, as well as legal and institutional support, will also be provided.
