On April 24, Changwon Special City announced that the Changwon Special City Women’s Civil Defense Mobile Unit donated 3 million won to the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea to help residents affected by the recent large-scale wildfires in the Yeongnam region.

The Women’s Civil Defense Mobile Unit, which regularly leads disaster response and community service activities, voluntarily raised the funds this time as well, seeking to share in the suffering at the disaster site.
The donation ceremony was held that morning at the main building of Changwon Special City Hall, with Chairperson Lee Okjo and other members of the Women’s Civil Defense Mobile Unit, along with city officials, in attendance. They also conveyed heartfelt messages of comfort.
Lee Okjo, Chairperson of the Women’s Civil Defense Mobile Unit, stated, "Although it is a small gesture, I hope this donation will bring some comfort to our neighbors affected by the wildfire," and added, "I sincerely hope that the residents of the affected areas can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, "I deeply appreciate the warm generosity of the Women’s Civil Defense Mobile Unit in sharing the pain of our neighbors," and expressed words of comfort to all those affected by the wildfires.
