Dongjak District in Seoul (District Mayor Ilha Park) will issue 8 billion won worth of 'Dongjak Sarang Gift Certificates' at 1 p.m. on April 28 to revitalize the local economy. The gift certificates can be used like cash at approximately 8,000 affiliated stores within the district, including traditional markets and small business shops.

The district explained that it decided to issue the certificates early to stimulate local consumption and boost small business sales ahead of the upcoming Golden Holiday in early May.
In particular, the district will offer users a maximum discount benefit of 10%. This will be provided as a 5% discount at the time of purchase and an additional 5% cashback on the amount spent. The cashback event will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis within a budget limit of 100 million won, and the payment will be made in the month following the transaction. Residents wishing to use the gift certificates can purchase up to 500,000 won per person per month (with a holding limit of 1.5 million won) through the 'Seoul Pay+' app.
