The Jinju Police Station in Gyeongnam announced on the 17th that they have booked Mr. A without detention and will soon refer the case to the prosecution.
According to the police, Mr. A, a quick service delivery worker, allegedly found a motorcycle license plate by chance in downtown Jinju around November last year. He is accused of attaching it to his unregistered and uninsured motorcycle and using it for delivery work.
He reportedly could not afford the expensive insurance required for paid transportation (delivery) and was afraid of being caught by the police if he drove without a license plate. As a result, he began this conduct around mid-February.
A police official stated, "We will continue to actively crack down on all kinds of illegal acts that threaten traffic safety, such as illegal use of license plates and operation of unregistered or uninsured motorcycles."
