The election campaign committee of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential primary candidate, announced on the 15th that it will file a complaint against the distributor of a deepfake video of the candidate for defamation and violation of the Public Official Election Act.

The campaign stated, "Last week, the Lee Jae-myung primary candidate's campaign committee strongly warned against the distribution of false and manipulated information such as deepfakes," and added, "nevertheless, it has been confirmed that false and manipulated information containing defamatory content against the candidate continues to be distributed through deepfake videos maliciously produced."
