[Breaking] Uiryeong County Governor Oh Taewan Sentenced to Forfeiture of Office for False Accusation in First Trial

View original imageOh Taewan, the governor of Uiryeong County in South Gyeongsang Province, was sentenced to eight months in prison with a one-year suspension at the first trial related to charges of false accusation, held at the Masan branch of the Changwon District Court on the 15th.
Governor Oh was sued in June 2021 for allegedly sexually harassing a female journalist, Ms. A, during a dinner meeting with reporters covering the county office at a restaurant in Uiryeong County.
Subsequently, he filed a counter-suit against Ms. A for false accusation and defamation, claiming she had politically motivated intentions, and Ms. A also countersued Governor Oh for false accusation.
