According to the agreement: △ The corporation will establish a separate experiential internship program specifically for young people with disabilities and provide opportunities for on-site job experience; △ Busan City will support human and material infrastructure to help interns adapt to their roles; △ The Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled will create new education and training courses tailored to the internship positions to foster job competency.
This year, for the first time, the corporation plans to recruit a total of 10 interns through the newly established experiential internship program for young people with disabilities. Selected interns will be assigned to stations to assist with safety management tasks and will gain practical experience by working four hours a day, five days a week, for three months from early June to early September. In addition, through a one-on-one mentoring program, they will receive job guidance as well as practical advice on overall workplace life.
With this agreement, the corporation will support the smooth operation of the internship program, while Busan City and the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled will actively promote the experiential internship system through their own platforms, joining forces to vitalize employment for young people with disabilities.
Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, said, "It is very meaningful to be able to provide practical work experience opportunities to young people with disabilities during these challenging times in the job market," adding, "We will do our best to create quality jobs and fulfill our social responsibility."
