Volkswagen 'ID.4' Ranks No.1 in European Electric Vehicle Sales in Q1
Cumulative Sales Reach 784 Units
Volkswagen Korea announced on the 10th that its electric SUV 'ID.4' achieved the number one sales position among European brand electric vehicles in the domestic electric vehicle market in the first quarter.
According to the Korea Imported Automobile Association, the ID.4 recorded cumulative sales of 784 units from January to March this year, making it the only single model from a European brand electric vehicle to sell over 700 units.
Volkswagen explained that the ID.4 is popular due to its excellent build quality crafted by German engineering, equipped with a powerful and efficient drive system that enhances driving performance, and loaded with advanced features such as the new infotainment system and voice assistant. The ID.4, launched domestically in 2022, set a record by selling out its initial stock within two weeks of release and was recognized for its outstanding quality by winning two awards for 'Electric Vehicle of the Year' in the same year.
The 2025 model ID.4, released this year, features an improved drive system delivering a maximum output of 286 horsepower (PS) and a peak torque of 55.6 kg.m, offering powerful performance and high efficiency. It has been certified with a combined driving range of 424 km on a single charge and an energy consumption efficiency of 4.9 km/kWh.
Additionally, it is equipped with new features such as the 'Discover Max' infotainment system consisting of a 12.9-inch large touchscreen, wireless App Connect functionality, and the advanced voice assistant 'IDA' that allows vehicle control through natural language.
Volkswagen Korea plans to continue its imported electric vehicle leadership achieved through the ID.4 by starting customer deliveries of the pure electric coupe-style SUV 'ID.5' in May.
