Seo-gu, Gwangju Offers 24-Hour Rapid Response Care Service
Minimizing Gaps in Care
Accompaniment During Outings and More
Seo-gu District in Gwangju (District Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 8th that it has developed the 'Seo-gu Integrated Care Roadmap' to provide prompt 24-hour response and seamless care services.
Seo-gu plans to establish the '24-Hour Safe Call - 24-Hour Safe Dispatch - 24-Hour Safe Care' system, offering round-the-clock care services to all residents in need, ranging from medical support to mobility assistance.
The '24-Hour Safe Call' enables a one-stop service from registration to consultation and processing with just one call to the Smart Care Information Center. The received information is shared in real time with the relevant departments, care support agencies, fire department, and police station to ensure swift response and tailored care services.
The '24-Hour Safe Dispatch' service allows seniors aged 65 and older and people with disabilities, who are unable to resolve daily inconveniences on their own, to call the Safe Call number and receive services such as: replacement of consumables like fluorescent lights, faucets, and handles; installation of safety handles, repair of cabinet hinges or toilets; accompaniment during outings; and simple errands like purchasing goods.
Additionally, the '24-Hour Safe Care' service provides support for daily activities such as cleaning and laundry, as well as assistance with changing clothes and using the restroom, even during nights and holidays, for residents with limited mobility.
By establishing the FastER rapid medical response system, when an emergency occurs for a home medical care center patient, Seo-gu Home Medical Care Center (Senior Integrated Clinic) will collaborate to provide prompt action. In the event of a critical patient, the individual will be transported to a hospital capable of treatment based on their condition.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu District, stated, "Through this strengthened 24-hour care policy, we will minimize gaps in care within the community and establish a meticulous care system where everyone can live with peace of mind. We will continue to do our utmost to create a care environment that prioritizes the safety of our residents."
