'Anchovy Netting' to Be Presented at Dong-Eui University... Korea-Japan Haenyeo Research Institute and Jwasuyeong Eobangnori Preservation Society Sign Agreement
Special Lecture Series to Be Held 10 Times Starting April 10
"Eoyo eoyo, eoriyo eoyo~!" One of the representative folk games of the Busan region, Jasuyoung Eobangnori, is making its way onto a university campus lecture hall.
The Korea-Japan Haenyeo Research Institute at Dong-Eui University (Director Yoo Hyungsook) announced on the 7th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding for mutual development with the Jasuyoung Eobangnori Preservation Society (Representative Lee Yongbeom), which is recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Prior to the signing ceremony, the Jasuyoung Eobangnori Preservation Society began with a Gilnori parade in front of the university's main building, followed by a Jasuyoung Eobangnori performance at the College of Commerce basketball court, where students joined in and enjoyed the folk game together.
Through the agreement, Dong-Eui University will operate a special Jasuyoung Eobangnori lecture every Thursday evening starting from the 10th. The program will consist of a total of 10 special sessions, covering the composition and content of Eobangnori, understanding and demonstration of the instruments used, demonstrations of Naewang Sori and Sari Sori, and more.

Jasuyoung Eobangnori is a custom that passed down the anchovy netting movements and folk songs from fishing activities popular in the Suyeongman area as a folk game. It was designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Heritage in 1978.
At Dong-Eui University, students are enjoying together as Jwasuyeong English Room Play is reenacted.
