Up to 4,500 Children's School Buses to Undergo Joint Inspections by Next Month
The Korea Transportation Safety Authority announced on the 3rd that from this month until mid-next month, it will conduct joint inspections of children's school buses in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, local education offices, local governments, and jurisdictional police stations.
This measure is in preparation for the expected increase in school bus usage due to the expansion of after-school programs at kindergartens and daycare centers. Vehicle safety inspectors affiliated with the Authority will directly participate and inspect approximately 3,000 to 4,500 school buses. They will check the operation record devices, child disembarkation confirmation devices, attachment of child protection signs, visible light transmittance (window tinting), seat belt installation status, and the installation status of fire extinguishers and emergency escape devices.

The Authority urged each owner to conduct self-inspections in advance and perform maintenance if necessary.
