April Highlights: Emille Bell and the Prehistoric and Ancient Gallery
The National Museum of Korea announced on the 1st that it will introduce ‘Space_Sai’, themed on the sound of Korean bronze bells, and the recently reopened Prehistoric and Ancient Gallery through the April edition of ‘Conversations with Curators’. ‘Conversations with Curators’ is a program held every Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m., where visitors can view exhibitions together with curators.

View original image‘Space_Sai’, newly opened on March 21, is designed as a multi-sensory experience centered on the sound of Korean bronze bells. It is structured to allow visitors to perceive the principles of the bronze bell sound visually, auditorily, and tactilely, and also features media art based on the actual sound of the Emille Bell (Seongdeok Daewang Sinjong).
The Prehistoric and Ancient Gallery covers various themes each week. In the first week of April, the Bronze Age Room’s ‘The Pinnacle of Bronze Technology, Danyusemoon Mirror’ introduces the precise techniques of prehistoric people reflected in bronze mirrors. In the second week, the Gojoseon, Buyeo, and Samhan Room explores the heyday of Nakrang culture, focusing on Nakrang culture and the Seokam-ri Tomb No. 9.

In the third week, the Goguryeo Room’s ‘The Boundary of Life and Death, Goguryeo Tombs’ presents stories about the structure of large stone mound tombs and Goguryeo murals. In the fourth week, the Gojoseon, Buyeo, and Samhan Room hosts a theme titled ‘Iron Culture of Samhan’, examining the purposes and uses of iron artifacts on display.
