17th Changwon Global Business Center Established in Warsaw
Aiming to Boost Local Companies' Expansion into Europe
On the 31st, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam signed a business agreement at the City Hall reception room with HANSEI, located in Warsaw, Poland, designating it as the 17th Changwon Global Business Center.
The Global Business Center has been supporting local companies' overseas expansion by providing local market research, buyer discovery, export consultations, and participation in trade fairs, based on the extensive experience of trade experts with years of business-to-business trade and export consulting in the local industrial market.
The newly designated HANSEI is expected to serve as an efficient bridgehead for Changwon's local companies seeking to export to Europe, capitalizing on Poland's regional advantages of a strategically important position in pioneering the European market and well-developed logistics and transportation infrastructure.
Changwon is known as the mecca of South Korea's defense industry, producing world-class products such as the K2 tank, K9 self-propelled howitzer, and armored vehicles based on outstanding technology, and is accelerating its entry into the global market, including Poland.
Mayor Hong Nam-pyo said, "I hope that today's agreement will serve as a catalyst for Changwon's companies to expand more actively into the Polish and European markets," adding, "Furthermore, I hope this will lay a concrete and practical foundation for companies from both countries to grow together through close cooperation."
He added, "Through cooperation with HANSEI, we will further strengthen Changwon's export support projects and do our utmost to help local companies succeed in the global business environment."
Meanwhile, the Changwon Global Business Center serves as a local export support partner operated by the city to help local companies expand overseas. Starting with the India office in 2020, this agreement brings the total to 17 centers in 14 countries around the world.
