This project aims to alleviate the burden on young workers facing economic difficulties in unstable working environments and to support the protection of labor rights and capacity building.
The target group is young people and adolescents aged 16 to 29 who have performed ultra-short-time work at two different workplaces for at least two months within the past six months. A total of 50 people will be selected to receive 200,000 KRW in living expenses each, and the recipients will be chosen through a lottery.
Applications will be accepted from April 7 to 30. After the applications are received, documents will be reviewed and the final 50 recipients will be selected by lottery. The results will be announced on May 12. The selected 50 individuals must complete labor-related education before receiving the support funds.
Park Hyunjun, head of the Youth and Adolescent Labor Rights Team at Gwangju Labor Rights Center, said, "We have prepared this support project so that young people engaged in ultra-short-time work can maintain at least a minimum level of stability in their lives," adding, "We hope this project will lead to increased awareness of rights among ultra-short-time workers, and we ask for your interest and participation."
Meanwhile, Gwangju Labor Rights Center plans to continuously expand various support measures to protect labor rights and improve the welfare of citizens, including young people and adolescents.
