Nine Greenhouses Flooded in Samgye-myeon, Jangseong... No Casualties Reported
Korea Rural Community Corporation Presumes Damage to Reservoir Facilities
At approximately 12:48 a.m. on the 30th, a greenhouse flooding accident occurred near a reservoir in the Juknim-ri area of Samgye-myeon, Jangseong-gun, South Jeolla Province.
According to fire authorities and the Korea Rural Community Corporation, nine greenhouses in the area were found to be submerged. Authorities used excavators to open a waterway toward the river to drain the water. No casualties have been reported.
The Korea Rural Community Corporation stated, "It is presumed that water leaked after part of the concrete structure surrounding the reservoir sluice gate was damaged," and restoration work is underway at the site.
Authorities are checking for additional damage and are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
