Kim Beom-seok, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Emphasizes "Minimizing Damage to Agriculture and Livestock in Wildfire Areas"
Kim Beom-seok, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, recently urged “related ministries and local governments to closely cooperate to minimize damage to agriculture and livestock industries in areas near the wildfires occurring in Uiseong, Gyeongbuk, and to closely monitor the supply and demand situation of local agricultural products for timely response.”
On the 28th, Vice Minister Kim chaired the 'Price-Related Vice Ministers' Meeting' at the Government Complex Seoul, where he discussed price trends and response plans for agricultural, livestock, and processed seafood products by item, progress in improving the distribution structure of agricultural and marine products, strengthening market surveillance in areas closely related to people’s livelihoods, and progress in institutional improvements.
Vice Minister Kim mentioned, “Although the recent rise in prices of petroleum products and agricultural products has slowed, the perceived inflation burden remains for some vegetables such as cabbage and radish, as well as food service,” emphasizing that “the government will make an all-out effort through inter-ministerial cooperation to stabilize prices of food closely related to people’s daily lives.”
