Uijeongbu-si, Water Source Protection Area Cleanup Activity to Commemorate 'World Water Day'
The Uijeongbu City Clean Water Office (Director Ko Hyun-sook) in Gyeonggi announced on the 27th that it conducted a water source protection area cleanup activity around Hongbok Reservoir on the 25th in celebration of 'World Water Day.'
'World Water Day' is designated by the United Nations (UN) on March 22 every year to raise awareness about the importance of drinking water and water resource conservation.
About 40 officials from the Clean Water Office participated in this activity, removing trash and pollutants around Hongbok Reservoir, a water source protection area.
This year’s domestic theme for 'World Water Day' is 'Securing Water Resources for the Future in the Era of Climate Crisis.' It emphasizes responding to the water crisis caused by climate change and ensuring that everyone can use clean and safe water through the participation and efforts of various stakeholders.
