Although the project was promoted as a private redevelopment maintenance zone designated in 2009, it was stalled for a long time and the zone was canceled in 2017. Since then, the project was re-initiated under Seoul City's public redevelopment method, receiving designation as a maintenance zone from Seoul City on December 18 last year. Following the approval of the residents' representative meeting formation on the 11th of this year, the designation and official notification of the public project implementer were made this time.
As a result, the project will be actively promoted, including the selection of constructors and obtaining approval for the project implementation plan. Through this, improvement of the deteriorated residential environment and commercial district in Chungjeongno 1 district and revitalization of the Chungjeongno station area are expected.
