View original imageHong Taeyong, the mayor of Gimhae, Gyeongnam, visited the joint memorial altar for the victims of the wildfire in Sancheong-gun, which was set up at the Changnyeong County Sports Center, around 5 p.m. on the 25th.
Accompanied by Shin Jonggi, Director of Administration, and 11 senior officials, Mayor Hong paid tribute to the fallen and said, "I express my deepest condolences to the public officials and wildfire response team members who lost their lives while fighting the wildfire, and I extend my sympathies to the bereaved families and those who suffered damage from the wildfire."
The victims included one public official from Changnyeong County and three wildfire response team members, who were deployed to the wildfire site in Sicheon-myeon, Sancheong-gun on the 22nd. They lost their lives after becoming trapped by the flames while working to extinguish the fire.
