Jangsu County in North Jeolla Province has been selected as an 'Excellent' institution for the third consecutive year in the '2025 Local Government Proactive Administration Comprehensive Evaluation' organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
According to the county on the 25th, this evaluation targets 243 local governments nationwide and selects those that have achieved outstanding results in proactive administration activation and system improvement each year, as well as in the outcomes and public perception felt by citizens.
A total of 73 local governments (5 metropolitan, 62 basic) in the top 30% are selected as excellent institutions through evaluations by a comprehensive evaluation panel and a citizen evaluation panel on 5 categories and 17 detailed indicators.
The county has once again proven its continuous efforts in proactive administration and its outstanding administrative capabilities by being selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years.
In this evaluation, the county received high scores in areas such as ▲efforts to improve systems ▲efforts by the head of the institution to achieve proactive administrative results ▲application and handling of pre-consulting ▲public officials' awareness ▲evaluation of excellent proactive administration cases by private committee members, and received good evaluations in most indicators.
In particular, the 'Jangsu-style Smart Welfare Safety Net Operation' project, which strengthened the social network among residents, was highlighted as a representative example of proactive administration. Through initiatives such as the Welfare Safety Net Administrative Wagon and the Happiness Mail Delivery Service, the project proactively checked on socially isolated and reclusive households, established a dense welfare safety net, and prevented welfare blind spots, earning recognition as a model of proactive administration.
Choi Hunsik, the county governor, stated, "Being selected as an excellent institution this time is a valuable achievement made possible by the efforts of public officials who prioritized residents and practiced creative and proactive administration, as well as the support of the residents. We will continue to do our best to make Jangsu a place where people want to live by providing practical and tangible administrative services that reflect the voices of our residents."
