Japanese Kyodo News: "Mitsubishi Motors Plans to Outsource Electric Vehicle Production to Taiwan's Foxconn"
Japanese Mitsubishi Motors is reportedly planning to outsource the production of electric vehicles (EVs) to Taiwan's Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry), according to foreign media reports.
On the 20th (local time), Kyodo News reported that Mitsubishi Motors plans to establish an efficient production system and expand its EV models through cooperation with Foxconn. The EV models to be outsourced for production are said to be under negotiation.
Mitsubishi Motors, which is smaller in scale compared to Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, is pursuing broad alliances as part of its management strategy. It is interpreted that the purpose is to strengthen product competitiveness while suppressing production costs through cooperation with Foxconn.
