Kim Hyeyoung, an integrity expert lecturer from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, led the session, focusing on topics such as the Code of Conduct for Public Officials to Prevent Abuse of Power, the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, and cases of improper office management expenses. Using movies and real-life examples, she helped attendees better understand these issues and fostered strong empathy.
In particular, by presenting specific cases such as recent suspicions of embezzlement of office management expenses in other local governments, she raised awareness among employees and emphasized the importance of preventing similar incidents and blocking corruption factors in advance through the establishment of strong discipline in public service.
Lee Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu District, stated, "All public officials in Seo-gu will internalize upright values and proactively improve unfair practices in the public sector to ensure transparent and fair administration, transforming Seo-gu into a 'Good City, Integrity City.'"
Meanwhile, starting with this integrity education, Seo-gu plans to promote a variety of integrity policies, including campaigns, integrity happy calls, and talk shows with the district mayor, to foster a culture of integrity within the organization.
