Gyeonggi-do Operates 'Resident Support Councils' in Six Housing and Public Housing Districts Including Hwaseong Taean 3
Gyeonggi Province will operate the ‘Move-in Support Council’ in six districts, including Hwaseong Taean 3, in the first half of this year to address the inconveniences faced by residents in newly developed housing and public housing districts.
The council is composed of a consultative body centered on Gyeonggi Province, including resident representatives, relevant city and county governments, project implementers, and related organizations.
The council targets districts where apartment complexes in housing and public housing districts have been newly occupied within the last three years. It listens to residents' complaints related to infrastructure and public facilities such as transportation, construction, and environment, and discusses solutions.
Gyeonggi Province operates the Move-in Support Council once each in the first and second halves of every year. In the second half of last year, the council was held for the Hwaseong Taean 3, Yangju Hoecheon, Icheon Jungri, Hwaseong Bibong, Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town, Suwon Dangsu, and Goyang Janghang housing and public housing districts.
In the first half of this year, the council will be held for six districts, including five districts from the second half of last year excluding Gwacheon Knowledge Information Town and Hwaseong Bibong public housing districts, which had already operated the Move-in Support Council for three years after initial occupancy, and adding Bucheon Goean public housing district, which began apartment move-ins in December last year.
A Gyeonggi Province official said, "We will actively strive to resolve the inconveniences experienced by residents due to the immature state of the districts in the early stages of occupancy in housing and public housing districts."
