4by4, JermnaiSoft Sign MOU for AI Solution Plugin Development

Content AI solution provider ForBy4 announced on the 17th that it has signed an MOU with JermanaiSoft, a company specializing in digital media management platforms for broadcasting, to jointly develop and supply AI solution plugins.

JermanaiSoft is a developer of the media asset management system software ‘MAM’ optimized for broadcasting environments. It currently operates systems for leading domestic broadcasters such as MBC, SBS, EBS, and Yonhap News TV.

By utilizing various system software developed by JermanaiSoft, it helps broadcasters automatically collect, convert, and store vast amounts of media data produced and transmitted, or easily search and find them. It also maximizes efficiency throughout the entire broadcasting process by enabling the creation or editing of new media using stored assets, as well as assisting in the distribution and transmission of news materials.

Through this MOU, ForBy4 will integrate its proprietary image quality enhancement AI solution PIXELL into various services provided by JermanaiSoft. The initial work will focus on optimizing and lightweighting it in the form of a ‘plugin.’

JermanaiSoft will be responsible for platform restructuring and operation so that existing customers can freely utilize the PIXELL plugin in various ways within their workflows, such as reducing capacity (bitrate) or improving image quality.

The development is planned with the goal of unveiling it at the world’s largest broadcasting equipment exhibition, the ‘NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show,’ held in Las Vegas, USA, in early next month.

Lee Sang-bong, Head of JermanaiSoft’s Next Biz Division, said, “The image quality enhancement feature can be used in our media asset management system (MAM) and news solutions. The bitrate reduction feature can be used together with format conversion and encoding tasks, so the usability of the PIXELL solution is limitless.”

Bae Seong-wan, Head of ForBy4’s PIXELL Business Division, explained, “ForBy4 can expand the industrial base for applying the PIXELL AI solution, and JermanaiSoft can also improve the efficiency of the various functions it provides.” He added, “Using the jointly developed plugin will be an opportunity to directly target not only domestic broadcasters but also the global broadcasting equipment market.”
