View original imageOn the 10th, Kang Gijung, Mayor of Gwangju, presented appointment letters to 40 newly recruited firefighters at the City Hall business room.
The newly appointed firefighters passed the recruitment exam last year and completed a 24-week field training program at the Gwangju Fire Academy from September 23 to the 7th of this month. Their training included fire suppression, rescue and emergency response, and live fire drills. They will now be assigned to local fire stations and take responsibility for the safety of Gwangju citizens.
Mayor Kang Gijung said, "I sincerely congratulate you on your appointment as new firefighters," and added, "I hope you will always do your best to protect the lives and property of citizens with a strong sense of duty as firefighters, while also ensuring your own safety on the field."
